Hi Joe,

I tried to subscribe to MDOsprey so I could post this but they responded
that the LISTSERV was filled up and I should try again later. Anyway,
thought this sighting was worthy of getting the word out in case others are
still trying to see this bird. Would you mind posting this for me? Hopefully
you can just copy and paste.

Thanks,

Bill

Subj: Cromwell Valley Northern Shrike - Yes

The Cromwell Valley Northern Shrike was seen this morning by Gayle & Bill
Hill. We arrived at about 9:30 AM and scanned the tangles by the second
utility pole in the field immediately to the north of the entrance road into
the farm/park (the first entrance from the Beltway) and the surrounding
fence lines but didn't see anything of interest. Took a leisurely walk along
the creek to the next road crossing and then worked our way back. Found the
Northern Shrike in the tangles at the second utility pole at 10:35 AM.
Watched it preen for 20 minutes until it dropped to the ground and
disappeared.

Also present: coopers, sharpie and an American Tree Sparrow.
