The birds at the feeders have been in what I would call a 'feeding frenzy'
all day. As I am typing this, I have at least 300 Red winged Blackbirds,
Grackles and Cowbirds at my primary feeding station, hopefully cleaning up
all the seed that has been spilling on the ground all winter. I have had
similar numbers of birds at the other two places where I feed the birds in
the yard. Numbers easily approach 1000 birds at times during the day. The
Goldfinches, House Finches, House Sparrows, Cardinals etc have all been
around in greater numbers than usual, but they are being bullied out of the
way. I guess they can sense the snow coming ... especially since it is
falling now! The blackbirds spook every few minutes with a small roar of
wings but they keep coming back.

A partially leucistic cow bird is among the hoards at the feeders.

Time to fill the feeders!
