Hi everyone,

I'm planning a trip to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge this weekend with
my two boys (ages 3 and 5). Similar to Warren Strobel's post a week or two
ago, I wanted to request details on some recent sightings at the refuge and
the surrounding area. I greatly appreciate those that have already posted
species lists (Warren included), some of which included which roads on/near
the refuge sightings occurred.

I haven't seen any posts of recent sightings of Golden Eagles in the
vicinity. I'd love to know where previous sightings were, I don't recall
seeing any details. Also, I've seen a couple different places listed for
Short-eared owls, Egypt road (seems to be the best spot?) and Cedar Creek
road. Can anyone give me details (or plot it on google map, etc.) of where
along Egypt road would be best?

Any other trip reports or details would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping
that the boys will have a fun time and see some good birds. Thanks to all
who have posted already and in advance to anyone offering additional details.

Thank you very much!
