Subject: Poplar Island Sightings from Feb 18,  2008

            This report is submitted on behalf of Jan Reese of Talbot
County, who continues to periodically survey the flora and fauna of the Paul
Sarbanes Ecosystem Restoration Project at Poplar Island. 
            These sightings include the birds seen on Feb 18, 2008.  Some of
the birds were seen from the boat during the trip from Tilghman Island and
back. 
	
	Note the presence of  Brown Pelican, American Wigeon, Western, Least
and Purple Sandpipers,  Wilson's Snipe and Snow Bunting.  Also note the
numbers for American Black Duck, Northern Pintail, Green-winged Teal,
Greater Scaup and Red-breasted Merganser.  
	
	Weather: Overcast, Misty am, Broken Overcast pm;  Temp range 48-58
degrees  F
