That's a quote I stole from the article about Nico. Many birders' mothers
probably had the same fear and yes, it came true.

But seriously I met Nico recently and was  impressed with both his
enthusiasm and the length of his lens. Looks like something the Bill Hubicks
of the world might use. I hope Bill and some of the other photographic
whizzes of this site get to know Nico. It's about encouraging the budding
future stars. In case some of you didn't know - Nico is 14 and is tagging
along with Kevin and anybody else that will give him a ride to build his
growing life list.

He belongs in a class with the girls from Centreville who did that excellent
study that they exhibited at the MOS convention a couple years ago. We have
to encourage the youngsters among us. The more of them the better birding
will be a hundred years from now.
    I know I look forward to it.
