Against my better judgment, I hied out in windy, 15 degree weather this
morning to test my progress against stubborn, lingering effects of flu and
to bird the trap & skeet surrounds. No evidence of the singing Pine War-
bler of my last three excursions, but a very pleasing song had me thinking
FOX SPARROW. Eventually, was able to tease out a brief glimpse of
same from a nearby bush. That new headset works o.k. Most waterfowl
were spotted below the dam site, on the way to parking at Stonehill Rd.
Not much excitement for passerine activity except a flash of molten gold
cresting friendly kinglet. About 10 WT Deer and a truly beautifully lux-
uriantly garbed Red Fox complemented the following:

Canada Goose
Mallard
Black Duck
A Wigeon
Redhead
RN Duck
Bufflehead
Hooded Merg
C Merg
RB Merg
T Vulture
B Vulture
Herring Gull
RB Gull
Flicker
RB W'pkr
YB SAPSUCKER
Downy W'pkr
B Jay
A Crow
C C'dee
T Tit
WB Nut'h
N Mock'bird
E BLUEBIRD
GC KINGLET
Cedar Waxwing--had to see them to appreciate the gorgeous coloring
E Starling
N Cardinal
DE Junco
FIELD SPARROW
WT Sparrow--some in beautiful breeding plumage
FOX SPARROW
SWAMP SPARROW--probable
Song Sparrow

Four hours later and 15 degrees warmer w/about 25 mph gusts negating
30 degree temp's, I gratefully tumbled into my comfy car. Whew!
