I took a chance on a warm and misty Tuesday night this
week to see if American woodcocks still hung out near
Research Park Drive at UMBC...a resounding yes...with
some of the better audio entertainment I have ever
heard. Unfortunately, the parking lot lights and fog
made the birds invisible above 20 feet. I estimate
about 4 woodcock(s)near the wooded preserve to the
left of the new USGS building. Nice fly-bys visible
from the street between 6:15 and 6:30. Wear old shoes
or boots if you wish to walk the muddy construction
areas. To the previous poster of AMWC...my wife tells
me to put an (s) on plural nouns, so I tell her that a
bunch of woodcock just flew by the building made of
brick.

Sorry for the late posting.

Cheers!
