On my way into FSU this morning, I noticed some birds foraging on the
practice soccer field just near the main entrance. When I stopped to
look, there were two EASTERN MEADOWLARKS. Also, other first of the
year on campus birds included Killdeer, Red-winged Blackbird, and
Common Grackle.
Along the same lines, yesterday there was a Fish Crow calling on
campus near the Gunter Lot. On Sunday, I counted 31 Ring-billed Gulls
kettling near my apartment in South Cumberland.
Spring is on its way!
