This afternoon I stopped by Wilde Lake in Columbia to see if the
Red-necked Grebe was still there - and it was, swimming and
diving with about two dozen Hooded Mergansers. Shortly after I
arrived, I was surprised to see an adult Bald Eagle soar overhead
and land in a tree on the other side of the lake (in someone's
backyard), where it stayed for the rest of the time that I was there.

Also present were a Double-crested Cormorant, one Ruddy Duck,
at least one Ring-necked Duck, a coot, and a kingfisher, plus the
usual Canada Geese and a few Mallards.
