Haven't (yet) seen/heard any Tundra Swans migrating over College Park, but
sadly I'm indoors out of earshot much of the day. Still hoping :)
The WOODCOCK show continues though. I've been out several evenings in the
last week and heard them each nights. Last night, there were at least two,
but more likely 3 individuals calling (beent... beent). One of them
repeatedly performed its flight display, though I got out there after it was
rather dark, so I could only see it on the tail end of a couple of flights.
Still very fun to listen to overhead.
I've been seeing them from the field/playground at Park Dr. and Kiernan Rd.
Last night, there were people making noise on the field until 6:20 or
6:25pm, but after they left, it didn't take too long for them to start
calling. The one was still performing its flight display when we went in at
about 6:40pm.
