I circumnavigated Charles Co. today, LOTS of waterfowl were floating on the
various necks and guts of the Potomac. Smallwood SP on the Mattawoman Creek
was a goldmine of REDHEADS (12), Am. Wigeon, Scaup, Ring-necked, Ruddy, and
Pied-billed Grebes. The Redheads were pretty close to the shore near the
picnic table at the Art Gallery, north of the marina. I don't have a scope-
there were many more birds beyond my line of sight.

My wife and I heard and saw a WOODCOCK display in Dameron (St. Mary's)
before heading home this evening.

Good birding,
