GOSHAWK - 1 immature, standing in shallow water at the edge of the lake on the opposite side of a cove from me. I soon realized that it was probably standing on its prey trying to drown it. After a few minutes it dragged a Coot onto the shore and continued holding it there. I could see the Coot's head struggle briefly. Then it dragged the Coot behind some vegetation on the shoreline where the hawk was mostly hidden but judging from the body motion that I could see I am sure it was having dinner.
