The Red-breasted nuthatch that i reported missing two
weekends ago proved me wrong by showing up both days
this past weekend.

I had been pondering where to find Woodcock in my home
area the past several years. I hadn't found a good
site since moving from the little villiage of
Knoxville where i could hear them from my backyard
adjacent to the RR tracks and C & O canal park.
Imagine my surprise on Fri or Sat eve to hear a
displaying bird in my or my neighbors yard...!!!

The common grackles have arrived in force to decimate
the sunflower and suet feeders. Oh well, the
"regular" birds seem to find opportunities to get
their meals in as well.
