Those who would like the opportunity to review the various plumages of 
Horned Grebes might want to scan the 100+ now riding just off the North 
Beach boardwalk - the greatest assemblage I've ever seen.  The full 
range of plumages is displayed, from 1st winter thru high breeding 
("def. alternate"). Alas, no Eared or Red-throated, so oft reported 
elsewhere this season, were among them.

Rounding out the numbers were ~5 C. Loons, 200 L. Scaup, and many C. 
Golden-eyes far out.
