Yesterday Jane and I walke around Lake Elkhorn, Columbia, and had a few interesting birds. Pied-billed Grebes were exceptionally common, with 8. Ring-necked Ducks 6 or 8. One migrating Northern Harrier, 3 Cooper's Hawks, and a Red-shouldered Hawk were seen. Several Eastern Phoebes, 4 Tree Swallows, and a Yellow-rumped Warbler represented the migrant passerines. In our back yard, we've had a Fox Sparrow and an Eastern Towhee.
