Subject: Poplar Island Sightings from Mar 21, 2008
This report is submitted on behalf of Jan Reese of Talbot
County, who continues to periodically survey the flora and fauna of the Paul
Sarbanes Ecosystem Restoration Project at Poplar Island.
These sightings include the birds seen on Mar 21, 2008. Some of
the birds were seen from the boat during the trip from Tilghman Island and
back.
Note the presence of Peregrine Falcon, Purple Sandpipers,
Bonaparte's Gull, Horned Lark and Tree Swallow. Also note the numbers for
Tundra Swan, American Wigeon, Northern Pintail, and Red-breasted Merganser.
Weather: Clear am & pm; Temp range 39-50 degrees F
