This morning I went early to the McKeldin Area of Patapsco Valley State Park. Highlights were:
Wood Duck 4, two pairs
Mallard 2, a pair
Great Blue Heron 1
Cooper's Hawk 1
Phoebe 8
Winter Wren 1
Golden-crowned Kinglet 4
Pine Warbler 1, heard only, singing from the pines on the Howard Co. side
LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH 1, singing at the confluence of the North & South Branches of the Patapsco River establishing a territory in all three counties; an early record by three days for Carroll & one day for Baltimore (Howard has five earlier records)
