I was surprised to hear the familiar (but not recently heard!) whiny call of a Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher just off the boardwalk at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens this morning. Seemed too cold for him/her to be here!

Perhaps more importantly, K.A.G. hosted a large flock of Rusty Blackbirds that I estimated to be about 75 birds. Will add these to the eBird survey...

     Other sightings:

     Wilson's Snipe
     Killdeer
     American Black Duck, pair
     Osprey
Red-Shouldered Hawk, (being harrassed by a crow)
     Accipiter, sp., 2
     Fish Crow
Northern Flicker, 2 (one in tree nest cavity)
     Red-Bellied Woodpecker
     White-Throated Sparrow, 2
     Dark-Eyed Junco, 6
     Eastern Towhee, heard.

     Plus the usual
