becoming ESE, 7-12 mph
Raptor Observations: A pair of Ospreys seems to have finally settled in last year's nest at the
Park. Total raptors through March, 5752, more than 2000 over average.
Vultures make up most of surplus, but numbers are also above average for
Osprey, Cooper's Hawk, and American Kestrel; below average for
Red-shouldered and Red-tailed Hawks.

Site Description: Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best winds are from the southwest. The Park is closed to visitors on Wednesdays.
