I just wanted to add a few more species and notes to the report
generated by the bird club's Garrett Co. ponds trip. Most interesting
for me was the VIRGINIA RAIL and WILSON'S SNIPE, both of which were
calling at Finzel Swamp, and the large raft of 40 (by my count)
LONG-TAILED DUCKS at Piney Reservoir. Additions to the J.B.'s report
are listed below. I also that it was interesting to note some of the
changes in waterfowl species between my observations and the group's
observations and how during this time of year species will come in and
move out very quickly. A great time of year to get outside and go
birding!
