On this AM's PGAS field trip along the WB&A Trail leading north from the
race track along a flooded portion of Horsepen Branch, a large flock of
Ruty Blackbirds (RUBL's) was seen and enjoyed by ~16 birders. The RUBLs
were in mature woods covered with scattered pools of water. Some
Red-wings were mixed in with them but most, at least 100 and maybe many
more, were Rusties; all were making the racket characteristic of their
large flocks. This is the largest flock of RUBL's I have seen for many
years.
A full trip report listing ~50 species will be posted by trip leaders.
