Greetings All.

Here is an interesting story you (hopefully) will enjoy. Do you
remember this winter's PABU that was easily seen by many from the B&A
Trail in Arnold? Well, it decided to stick around ALL winter.

But before it unpacked it's luggage and moved into it's Arnold
location, PABU was a regular visitor to a feeder (December 2007) at a
private home 5 miles Southeast in Annapolis. Sometime in mid-January,
PABU stopped being seen in Annapolis and a new sighting reports came
out of Arnold for this brilliant Painted Bunting.

And here is where our story gets interesting:

Yesterday (Sunday) at 9:45 AM, the PABU was seen BACK at it's
Annapolis location. One would assume the bird was beginning it's
famous Spring migration (South???). Well, around 2:30 PM on Sunday
the PABU was seen in Arnold.

Is this bird making the nearly 5 mile trip in a relatively short
amount of time, in the middle of the day in yesterday's foul weather?

Or, maybe there is a more tantalizing possibility... might there be a
2nd PABU in Anne Arundel County?

Both birds are males. I'm sure it's the same bird, but... don't you
love a good mystery. I've made arrangements for a second Wingscapes
BIRDCAM to be set up at the Annapolis location.

Finally, as an added twist, this famous PABU was regularly seen by the
Arnold homeowner a year ago in January and February of 2007. So, I'm
looking forward to the bird's return next winter. Apparently, this
Painted Bunting is wired backwards?

Have A Good Evening,
