Today Bill and I went birding in Dorchester Co. looking for migrants. We some of the birds we saw or heard

Pileated Woodpecker  4
E. Phoebee
Purple Swallow
Tree Swallow
Brown-headed Nuthatch  2
Golden-crowned Kinglet  several
Hermit Thrush  4, 2 singing softly
Yellow-rumped warbler  2
Yellow-throated warbler  2
Pine warbler  many
Louisiana waterthrush  3
E. Towhee  
Chipping Sparrow
Field Sparrow
DE Junco
BH Cowbird  too many

In our yard we still have Purple Finches, a Winter Wren and Red-breasted nuthatches. The Brown Creeper left about a week ago. Two Brown Thrashers showed up briefly last weekend. Our Goldfinches are down from 200 to 50, thank goodness.
