A total of 7 common loons were loafing around Lake Artemesia today, relatively unphased
by bikers, dogs, joggers, etc. Beautiful scene. Six were in the middle of the north
impoundment, and one was in the south impoundment. They were joined by tree swallows
chittering around nesting boxes, and Ruddy Ducks, coot, pied-billeds and one horned grebe,
a wood duck and ring-necked ducks, and a swamp sparrow. Good birding. David Moulton |
