I've seen a few spring migrants yesterday and today in Howard and adjacent
Anne Arundel Counties. Around 5PM April 9 an adult male Northern Harrier
glided swiftly overhead near the BWI Amtrak station. Today my wife reported
a Hermit Thrush near our bird feeder and after work I saw the same or another
one on the path near our house in east Columbia. Also had my first Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher of the spring flitting through the willows around the small pond
upstream of Lake Elkhorn. A female Hooded Merganser, a Ruby-crowned
Kinglet and a Swamp Sparrow were also around this pond.
