Roosevelt Island, Wash, DC, 11 Apr 08, 1130-1230

It was nice to see Barn Swallows returning to their nesting location
under the footbridge.  Excessive jet and helicopter traffic overhead
muffled the RI birding experience.  Nevertheless, 28 species noted with
the following highlights:  1-Great Egret; 2-Wood Duck; 1-Osprey;
1-Red-Shouldered Hawk; 1-Pileated Woodpecker;  2-Eastern Phoebe; 1-Brown
Creeper; 1-Hermit Thrush; and 2-Palm Warbler (yellow).
