Hi all --

Nice day for the National Arboretum, all the beautiful spring flowers and shrubs out and sunny, albeit a bit cold. The "migrant of the day" was actually Chimney Swift as we had several small groups pass over (flying north) chattering away. FOY for us.

Birds of interest included:

Hooded Merganser - 1
Red-shouldered Hawk -2
Red-tailed Hawk - 1
BROAD-WINGED HAWK - 1
BALD EAGLE - 1 (immature)
BARRED OWL -1
CHIMNEY SWIFT - 20
Eastern Phoebe - 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 6
Golden-crowned Kinglet - 1
HERMIT THRUSH - 2 (together in Fern Valley)
Eastern Bluebird - 1
PARULA WARBLER - 2
PINE WARBLER - 2 (singing on Hickey Hill)
Eastern Towhee - 4
Chipping Sparrow - 6
