First post of the spring from Ft. Bayard Park (corner of River Rd and Western Ave., NW DC)--haven't had time to write about some of the other recent highlights: last week's Savannah Sparrow's or yesterday's Eastern Bluebird.

A great morning today, with the following:
Blue-headed Vireo (singing, my first of the spring)
Palm Warbler (2 yellow)
Field Sparrow
Chipping Sparrow (the flock has built up to about 20)
Purple Finches (at least 5, mix of sexes)

Too bad I'll be away for the weekend--things are really moving right now.
