Folks

While doing some owl nest checking at Indian Head I heard my first of the year Yellow-throated Vireo. I also had good numbers of Yellow-throated Warblers, Northern Parulas, and Yellow-rumped Warblers. A few Red-breasted Nuthatches are still in the area down here.

In the yard last night I heard my first Wood Thrush. The bird was doing it's buzzy, springy nocturnal flight call. A Barred Owl was doing its single note call off to the east, where the forest is to shortly be bulldozed. Remember this is the development district and with the local governments policy of no tree left standing, not much will survive. Enjoy your birds while you can.

What will today bring besides more pollen.

George
