Subject: Poplar Island Sightings from Apr 17,  2008

            This report is submitted on behalf of Jan Reese of Talbot
County, who continues to periodically survey the flora and fauna of the Paul
Sarbanes Ecosystem Restoration Project at Poplar Island. 
            These sightings include the birds seen on Apr 17, 2008.  Some of
the birds were seen from the boat during the trip from Tilghman Island and
back. 
	
	Note the presence of  Northern Gannet, American Wigeon, Semipalmated
Sandpiper, Wilson's Snipe, Caspian Tern and Seaside Sparrow. Also note the
numbers of Double-crested Cormorant, Gadwall, Snowy Egret, Green-winged
Teal, Surf Scoter, Bufflehead and Northern Shoveler.
	
	Weather: Scattered clouds early, Clear thereafter;  Temp range 63-78
degrees  F
