The BBC walk in the Granite Area of Patapsco Valley State was pretty good
considering the periodic showers, difficult lighting conditions and earlier
date this year. Five birders (Judy Harding, Jim Green, Linda Middlestadt,
Scott Berglund and Paul Kolhler) braved the muddy trails to find the
following highlights: 3 Prairie Warblers, 2 Yellow-throated Warblers (by
song), 2 Louisiana Waterthrush, 9 Northern Parula, 17 Myrtle Warbler, 3
yellow Palm Warbler, 1 Black-and-white Warbler and 2 Ovenbird. We also had a
Pileated Woodpecker at close range.
Thank you JH, JG, LM, SB and PK for coming out and making a gray day bright
and cheery.
