I visited Centennial Park after work today (4/21). The weather was cloudy
and windy with occasional light showers that did not seem to affect the birds.
There were four Ospreys flying over the lake: three perched in a dead tree
below the dam and one soaring overhead. An adult Bald Eagle flew by at quite
a distance. Two Spotted Sandpipers were walking over the rocks at the dam.
At least a dozen Purple Martins joined the Tree, Barn and Rough-winged
swallows circling over the lake. One Eastern Kingbird was perched in a tree
below the dam. Last, but definitely not least, two Caspian Terns made a quick
flyby just as I was heading back to my car.
