I had an American Bittern flyover this morning while driving down Eastern Blvd., in Hagerstown. Totally unexpected. I had another one during the night flight about two weeks ago. I always feared this would become a nemesis bird for me in Washington County. Great Blue and Green Herons are common in the county, a few Grate Egrets, but any of the rest of the family are scarce. Nice surprise to pick up two in two weeks.
