Despite a later-than-hoped-for start, it was still pretty birdy this
morning. First-of-Year (FOY) birds included a beautiful singing YELLOW
WARBLER, a singing WARBLING VIREO, finally a Common Yellowthroat, two
SOLITARY SANDPIPERS and a solitary CHIMNEY SWIFT. Also had four different
white-eyed vireos (only the last was seen, right behind one of the UMD
buildings!).
Of course the day after I confirm to Derek Richardson that Rusty Blackbirds
are pretty reliable at the swamp, I get skunked. Hopefully I find 'em again
tomorrow (they're around about 75% of the time).
