Birded in Worcester late Friday thru early Sunday. Most of activity was leading three trips for the Delmarva Birding Festival on Saturday. I would highly recommend this event to folks wishing to bird the Eastern Shore and who might be a little unfamilar with the territory.

Brief highlights:

4/25

Skimmer Island
Brown Pelican - 1
Brant - 200

West OC Pond
Ring-necked Duck 1

Assateague Pointe/Pier

Mt. Olive Church and Struges Roads
Hooded Warbler - 1 (same location as last year, on Mt. Olive just S of Worcester-Wicomico line, where woods end to west)
Kentucky Warbler - 1 (Mt. Olive at Nassawango, seen by a good number of the group!)
Summer Tanager - 2
Scarlet Tanager - 1
Broad-winged Hawk -1
Hermit Thrush - 2
Eastern Wood Pewee - 1

plus scores of the other resident warblers and vireos...

Ocean City (by boat)

Clapper Rail - 1 (hiding under the piers at Talbot Street). Very odd, a lost migrant.
