Highlight this morning was an FOY Prairie warbler. Birds other than the
same ol', same ol' were Ruby-crowned kinglet , FOY Eastern Kingbird,
Yellow-rumped warbler, Common yellowthroat, and Palm warbler (too brief
a sighting to determine east or west).

The nest boxes are starting to show some activity. One box is in use by
Eastern Bluebirds. I saw a House wren perch briefly on a box, but a few
minutes later, saw a pair of Chickadees visit the same box, one of them
entering briefly. I figured the Chickadees had laid claim to the box.
However, 10 minutes later, the House wren returned, perched on the box
and proceeded to emit a long series of noises that I have never heard
before. Not a song, not a scold. I don't know English words to
describe the sounds, but I interpreted them to mean: "This is MY box."
Time will tell.
