Yellow-crowned Night-herons

About 4:30 this afternoon I was slowly driving down Hunting Quarter Road 
(western Montgomery County) looking for a YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON 
and I found two. As I headed west they could be seen on the left side in the 
swampy woods. This stretch of the road was between the two parking areas.

Hughes Hollow notables:

GREAT EGRET
OSPREY
FEMALE HOODED MERGANSER with babies (merganserettes?) that Eric found  
yesterday
gorgeous SWAMP SPARROW in breeding plumage
PROTHONOTARY WARBLERS

Sycamore Landing at 7:00 p.m.
singing THRASHER
8-10 singing WOOD THRUSHES
WHITE-EYED VIREO
