Hi all --

Barry and I spent about 2 hours at Layhill Park, Montgomery Co., this morning before leaving for an appointment in Baltimore.

No migrants to speak of about, (NO Yellowrumps at all!) but quite a few of the local breeders are in and very vocal. We did both the south (very active) and north (far quieter) sides of the park. While there was nothing unexpected it was nice to hear and see so many orioles and locally-breeding warblers.

Birds of interest:
Red-tailed Hawk - 1
Eastern Kingbird - 1 FOY
Northern Parula - 5
Yellow Warbler - 7
Common Yellowthroat - 6
Wood Thrush -2
Brown Thrasher - 1
Baltimore Oriole - 5
Orchard Oriole - 2
Chipping Sparrow - 6
Savannah Sparrow - 2

No sign of the (usually breeding) Bluebirds, Warbling Vireos or Yellow-breasted Chats.
