Hi all --

(Had to run off to a doctor's appt. so this is late, sorry...)

Anyway, also a good day at Rock Creek Park DC but not as active as yesterday, which is often the case. Far fewer Red-eyes and B-T Blues, for example. However diversity was good, we personally had 13 species of warbler and I know other birders added to this, the total being about 16 or so species on the day.

Areas covered included the "ridge", equitation field, maintenance yard, stable and nature center vicinity and Military field.

Birds of interest:

Warblers:
Black-throated Blue - 6
Black-throated Green - 5
Black and White - 2
Blackburnian - 2 (including a real stunner at the equit. field!)
Blackpoll - 1, heard only
Chestnut-sided - 5
Hooded - 1, Military Field
Nashville - 2
Northern Parula - 6
Redstart - 1
Ovenbird - 8-9
Yellowthroat - 1
Yellow-rumped - ~30

Other migrants:
Baltimore Oriole - 10
Scarlet tanager - 7
Red-eyed Vireo - 25
Yellowthroated Vireo - 2
Blue-headed Vireo - 1
Veery - 2
Wood Thrush - 4
Eastern Kingbird - 1
Great Crested Flycatcher - 4
Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 1
Indigo Bunting - 1
White-throated Sparrow - 1 lonely individual!

"Addendum" species seen or heard included Tennessee, Northern Waterthrush, Mourning Warbler (heard at ridge), White-eyed Vireo, Swainson's Thrush & Rose-breasted Grosbeak -- (all reported by Jeff Shenot)
