John Combs, John Pangborn, Mike Bowen and I arrived at Blue Mash at 0730
but there was no BB Cuckoos. John Combs left the group around 1000 and did
find a BB Cuckoo when he returned to the parking area. The remaining group
arrived at the parking area around 1030 and, despite Mike Bowen playing the
cuckoo's call, dipped on the bird(s) once again.
Other highlights this morning included: Green Heron; Solitary Sandpiper; Lesser
Yellowlegs; Least Sandpiper; Chimney Swift; White-eyed Vireo; Red-eyed
Vireo; Fish Crow; House Wren; Wood Thrush; Gray Catbird (abundant); Cedar
Waxwing; Yellow Warbler (abundant); Prairie Warbler (BMNT #161); Ovenbird;
Northern Waterthrush (heard only); Common Yellowthroat; Eastern
