Since no one else has posted yet, here's my summary (eBird
report below). Great day! Warblers seen by me and/or by
others include: BLUE-WINGED, NASHVILLE, NORTHERN PARULA,
CHESTNUT-SIDED, MAGNOLIA, BLACK-THROATED BLUE,
YELLOW-RUMPED, YELLOW-THROATED, PALM, CERULEAN,
BLACK-AND-WHITE, AMERICAN REDSTART, WORM-EATING (was this
confirmed?), OVENBIRD, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, and HOODED.
Maybe someone had a waterthrush too? I pretty much did the
whole circuit: ridge, equestrian field, maintenance yard,
dog run, nature center.
Location: Rock Creek Park
Observation date: 5/2/08
Notes: My first visit to Rock Creek Park this season.
Lots of good birds, though I missed some that others had
(including Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Belted Kingfisher, Magnolia
Warbler, Yellow-throated Warbler, Cerulean Warbler, and
maybe Worm-eating Warbler). May have heard American
Redstart and Fish Crow. Also saw Eastern Gray Squirrels, 2
White-tailed Deer, and 4 chipmunks.
