I don't know if chickadees and House Wrens will use boxes on the same pole, 
but in our yard they are using boxes that are 30 or 40 feet apart.  The 
chickadees are always first to move into one of our five nest boxes, and 
then when they leave, I clean out the box and House Wrens move promptly in.
