It is surprising what interesting birds show up alongside the National Mall during migration.
This morning, at about 7:15 to 7:30, my husband and I walked through the grounds of the National Academy of
Sciences, where the statue of Albert Einstein is located, between 21st and 22nd Sts. along Constitution Ave.
We heard an Ovenbird, Crested Flycatcher and House Wren, and flushed a roosting Red-tailed Hawk.
These were in addition to the usual residents.
