Weather: Sunny becoming mostly cloudy in the late afternoon; 55-73 degrees; good to
excellent visibility; strong winds out of the west turning to the WSW, then W, then SW, 13-20 mph, gusting to 25 mph, becoming lighter in the late afternoon
Raptor Observations: Favorable winds brought 2 Mississippi Kites, an adult at 10:10 am EDT and a
subadult at 11:10 am, along with a great flight of immature Broad-wings: nearly 300 from 9 to 11 am.
Non-raptor Observations: Two Semipalmated Plovers; Semipalmated Sandpiper; several flocks of Cedar Waxwings; 3 Common Nighthawks; 2 Royal Terns; 61 species for the day

Site Description: Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best winds are from the southwest. The Park is closed to visitors on Wednesdays.
