Fort Bayard Park was nicer than I would have guessed this morning, with some fine-looking warblers: BAY-BREASTED and BLACKBURNIAN, plus Black-throated Green, Magnolia, and Blackpoll.
A "singing" LEAST FLYCATCHER was again present, along with a mystery flycatcher giving a short, upslurred whistle that sounded like a Yellow-bellied call. Since I did not see the second bird and Sibley indicates that migrant pewees give a similar whistle (though I can't recall ever hearing one do it), I can't say for sure which it was. I did get a look at the Least and saw that it was not the whistler (and that it didn't look much like a Yellow-bellied), so I can at least rule out the possibility that it was a lone Yellow-bellied making all the sounds.
