I was at Assateague on a camping trip this Mothers' Day weekend - there had been so much rain the preceding Thursday that the State Park campgrounds were full of standing water. I had 7 species of shorebirds around our campsite (both Yellowlegs, S/B Dowitcher, and Spotted, Solitary, Least and Semi Sand). It probably won't be like that now but its worth checking grassy areas for pools of water. I also had a number of Red Knot heading north just off the beach as well as several flocks of Short-billed Dowitcher.
