Blue Mash Nature Trail, Zion Road Section, Montgomery County, 22 May 08, 0730-0945
 
A beautiful fall morning at Blue Mash.  The gusty winds out of the northwest somewhat curtailed bird activity.  42 species were observed or heard to include at least 8 Brown Thrasher, many Cedar Waxwing and the following birds of note:


Wood Duck-1 female w/young on inside pond
Scaup (sp.)-1 female on inside pond
Green Heron-1 flyover at outside pond
N. Harrier-1 over landfill
Spotted Sandpiper-3 at outside pond
Ruby-throated Hummingbird-1 female
Acadian Flycatcher-1 seen & heard near parking area
Willow Flycatcher-5
