Just over a week ago, I thought I heard a Kentucky Warbler during my evening
walk. I heard it again this evening. The habitat is perfect and the song
matches, after much listening to it and to CDs. and reading Mr. Dunne's
description in his Field Guide Companion. I hope it sticks around because I
would love to see it. It refused to show itself this evening after a couple
rounds of Pishing.
Observation about a Brown Thrasher: I watched a Brown Thrasher run thru
short grass the other day. Its head was stretched straight out in front of
it and its tail stuck straight out the back ... both were parallel to the
ground as it ran. It reminded me of the representations of certain
dinosaurs running (Velociraptors?).
