During a casual shopping trip along Rte.40 in Ellicott City, at the
Furniture Now store to be exact, my Dad whose visiting from Norway pointed
out a dead bird on the ground by a window. I glanced down and immediately
noticed there was something special about it. I picked it up and turned it
over and to my surprise it was a fresh and in perfect condition NELSON'S
SHARP-TAILED SPARROW!! I have it in my freezer and intend to donate it to
the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. I took some photos of it that I
will post on my flickr page sometime tomorrow (as I'm heading east to
present a poster at the MOS conference this afternoon).
Who said window shopping was boring?
