The Henslow's Sparrow was singing this evening off and on from 6:45 to at
least 7:30 when I left. It was silent for the first half hour or so that I
was there. It was still just on the other side of the swale, quite close to
where the chain link fence and the other fence meet - probably only 30 yards
from the chain link fence. This was a fair bit to the left from where the
single thistle stands. Despite the close proximity, I was never able to
view the sparrow and I never saw it fly.
